Raspberry Mash with a Pomegranate Splash!
This is a creative little dessert that will surely impress your guests. Although this recipe calls for raspberry, you can use blackberries or blueberries or we also suggest combining all three for a very berry dessert.
Servings:
Ingredients:
2 cups fresh raspberries, rinsed (or other berries if desired)***
8 tbs ready-made whipped cream, low fat or nonfat will also work
4 tsp MarXana pomegranate reduction sauce
- Rinse berries clean under cool water and shake any excess water from them and place in a bowl. Using a fork lightly crush the berries so the juices begin to run. Add the pomegranate reduction sauce of your choice and toss. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least a half hour to serve chilled.
- Remove chilled berries from the refrigerator. Using either wine glasses, deep dessert dishes, or water glass to serve, place a layer of berries at the bottom of the glass. For the next layer place one heaping tablespoon of whipped cream in each glass and then another layer of berries and a last layer of whipped cream. Finish each serving with a couple of berries and drizzle a little of the remaining sauce from the berries over each dish. For an added touch add a sprig of mint or an individual mint leaf or two and serve right away.
Cooking Tips
***This visual in a see-through glass is really a treat if you are using a
variety of berries. Select a different berry for each layer in the
glass.
